What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Dietitian position at NUTRITION MANAGEMENT SERVICES?
We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically skilled Registered Dietitian (RD) to support nutrition services within a skilled nursing facility with a short-term rehabilitation program. This role is integral to interdisciplinary care, with a strong emphasis on active participation in care plan meetings and collaboration with nursing, therapy, and medical teams.
The RD will ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and resident-centered nutrition care that supports both long-term residents and short-term rehab patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for long-term care residents and short-term rehab patients
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans
- Attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings (required)
- Provide ongoing evaluation of residents’ nutritional status, including weight trends, intake, labs, and skin integrity
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and physicians to support rehabilitation outcomes and recovery goals
- Ensure compliance with all CMS regulations, state requirements, and facility policies
- Provide guidance and oversight on therapeutic diets, texture modifications, and hydration programs
- Participate in survey readiness and support during state and federal inspections
- Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition-related topics
- Partner with foodservice leadership to ensure menu compliance and resident satisfaction
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credentialed with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of [Insert State] (if applicable)
