Cashier / Food Prep – Private School

Nutrition Management Services Company (NMSC) is seeking a friendly, dependable Cashier / Food Prep Associate to join our dining services team at a private school.

This is a hands-on position combining customer service, cashier responsibilities, food preparation, and dining service. The ideal candidate enjoys working with students and being part of a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional service to students, faculty, staff, and guests.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and accurately process meal purchases and transactions.
• Assist with preparing sandwiches, salads, grab-and-go items, beverages, snacks, and other menu items.
• Set up and maintain serving areas, displays, condiment stations, and grab-and-go areas.
• Portion and package food according to established standards.
• Restock food, beverages, utensils, and supplies throughout meal periods.
• Assist the culinary team with basic food preparation as needed.
• Maintain clean and organized serving, cashier, and food preparation areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and proper rotation of food and supplies.
• Help with breakdown and cleaning following meal periods.
• Work cooperatively with the culinary and dining services team to provide an efficient and positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, food service, retail, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic food preparation experience is a plus.
• Friendly and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
• Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and staff throughout the day.
• Ability to accurately handle transactions and operate a POS system.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy meal periods.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move food and supplies as required.
