Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Dietary Services team. You’ll prepare nutritious, flavourful meals that meet the unique dietary needs of our residents—including therapeutic, texture-modified, and specialized diets. You’ll collaborate with the Dietary Director and care staff to ensure every meal supports residents’ health and comfort.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for up to ~80 residents

Follow therapeutic meal plans (e.g., diabetic, texture-modified, nutrient-enhanced)

Ensure proper food safety, storage, and sanitation standards

Adapt meals for special diets and document changes

Monitor inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste

Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment upkeep

Assist with menu planning and recipe adaptation

Support dietary staff training and maintain compliance with health regulations
Qualifications
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
-
1–2 years of cooking experience in a healthcare, residential, or large-scale environment

Experience with therapeutic or special diets a plus

Food safety certification required (e.g., ServSafe)

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Team-player mindset with excellent communication skills

Able to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and occasional weekends
