We're growing and seeking a passionate and dedicated Pharmacist to join our Elk Grove team.
This is a variable schedule between the hours of Monday-Friday 7am-8pm.
SUMMARY
Nutrishare is responsible for providing a wide range of home infusion pharmacy services to and specializes in dispensing sterile patient specific preparations, compounding parenteral nutrition, and providing supplies for long-term home care patients. The Operations Pharmacist position is an important and multi-faceted position that assists in fulfilling Nutrishare's mission of improving the quality of life of people who receive intravenous (IV) nutrition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned either verbally or in writing.
- Final verification of compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) including but not limited to parenteral nutrition, hydration, anti-infectives, and more.
- Final verification of non-compounded legend and otc products including but not limited to drug products, supplies, enteral products, and more.
- Automated compounding device verification of setup and prime and verification.
- Entering and processing prescriptions and other orders in accordance with Nutrishare's policy and procedures
- Providing oversight of the pack out process to ensure compliance and standardization of shipping processes.
- Acting as the building maintenance contact for outside vendors contracted to do repairs, enhancements, etc.
- Maintaining best-in-class patient satisfaction by quickly responding to all patient needs and concerns.
- Directing pharmacy staff engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Participating in regularly scheduled department meetings, clinical huddles, etc.
- Following established policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned at any time via verbal or written instructions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees pharmacy technician and warehouse staff as required under the duties of a pharmacist.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy program with a registered RPh or PharmD. Must possess an unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in his/her home state.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, consumers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations such as dilutions, weights, aliquots, etc.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Mental stability and the ability to get along with coworkers are essential functions of the job, without which an employee is not qualified.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Pharmacy License with respective State Board of Pharmacy in the state where Nutrishare is located (California and/or Kentucky); . Multiple additional state licenses will be required as determined by Nutrishare executives and operational need. Verification of continuing education units as required by the state board of pharmacy.
