Duties
- Prepare, dispense, and accurately label medications for Retail walk in customers and Long-Term Care Facilities alike, including compliance packaging, blister packs, and mechanisms to assist in medication synchronization.
- Assist pharmacists with medication management tasks such as inventory control, drug regulation compliance, and pharmaceutical calculations to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
- Enter prescription data into the pharmacy electronic health record system (QS/1 Primecare) with accuracy while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Support patient care by providing medication information, alerting the Pharmacist of any significant EHR system alerts in relation to medication interactions.
- Maintain strict adherence to company protocols, including pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, medical terminology accuracy, and documentation standards.
- Monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies to ensure the pharmacy is fully stocked with essential medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medication intake processes and support LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy services when needed.

Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a community settings is highly preferred; LTC or critical care experience is a plus. *National certification is encouraged and valued by our company.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, drug regulation laws, and state healthcare regulations is essential for ensuring compliance.
- Demonstrated proficiency with pharmacy software systems and data entry accuracy to streamline medication dispensing processes.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmacological medical terminology is recommended.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; ongoing education in pharmaceutical calculations and familiarity with medications is a plus, but will be included in company training exercises.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a commitment to patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced hospital or community pharmacy environments while adhering to all safety protocols related to drug administration and sterile procedures.
