The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the face of NuTek Machinery on the front lines — installing, commissioning, diagnosing, and repairing equipment at customer facilities across the United States. You'll work directly with manufacturers to minimize downtime and deliver the responsive, expert service NuTek is known for.
What You'll Do
• Install and commission new Ott Edgebander, KRC CNC, and Omaksan equipment at customer sites
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on woodworking machinery
• Deliver and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize machine reliability
• Provide remote, on-site, and phone technical support to customer
• Train operators and maintenance staff on proper machine usage and upkeep
• Document service activities and communicate clearly with the NuTek support team
What We're Looking For
• 2 years of experience servicing industrial machinery (woodworking, CNC, or similar preferred)
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Factory training or certification on CNC, edgebanding, or automated woodworking equipment is a plus
• Comfortable with regional and national travel (up to 75%)
• Self-motivated, customer-focused, and professional in the field
• Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
