SUMMARY

NUSO is currently looking for a Senior Accountant. This role can be local to our St. Louis Headquarters, or completely remote. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Director of Accounting and collaborating with a team of finance and accounting professionals dedicated to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting department including documentation of policies and procedures.
• Conduct research to resolve discrepancies and provide analytical support for decision-making.
• Assist with audits and regulatory reviews, providing necessary documentation and responses to inquiries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial initiatives and strategic projects.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training

• Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) in accounting from a four-year college or university.

Experience

• 1-3 years accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with multiple subsidiaries and consolidations a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
