Role Description

The NuSmile Product Development Director is responsible for research, new product development, design changes and intellectual property management, with a focus on developing new innovative Class 1 and Class 2 medical devices for Dentistry. Uses their technical knowledge and their understanding of the clinical applications for NuSmile products and competitive products, as well as the company’s core technology platforms, working closely with the Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory teams to bring new products to market. In addition, this position is responsible for inspiring a positive innovative company culture with open channels of communication with Product Management, Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales along with clinicians, the executive team, and other internal or external partners.


Requirements

  •        Masters or PhD Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering.
  •        Undergraduate Degree in Chemical, Materials Science, Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or similar scientific discipline.
  •        Excels at hands-on leadership, coaching and mentoring team in the laboratory.
  •        Experience in development of dental products incorporating dental glasses and organic polymers
  •       Successful track record of successful new product development resulting in successful commercial launches.
  •        Successful track record of successful 510(k) approvals.
  •       Successful track record of scale up from laboratory to manufacturing.
  •        >10 years in Product Development in the medical device field.
  •       Excellent communications skills. Ability to listen and clearly communicate verbally, in writing and in person to people at various levels of the organization.
  •       Effectively prioritizes and multitasks at a high level in a high energy fast-paced environment.
  •       Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products such as Project, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point or equivalent software applications.
  •         Experienced in documenting, preparing, and delivering presentations to all levels of the organization
