We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. DSPs provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or other challenges, helping them live as independently and fully as possible. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for the people they support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and transportation.
- Assist with medication administration and follow care plans as directed.
- Encourage independence by teaching and supporting life skills (budgeting, cooking, social interaction, etc.).
- Support clients in community involvement, recreational activities, and employment opportunities.
- Document progress notes, incidents, and daily activities accurately and on time.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviors or crises.
Skills
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- CPR Certification
- TOVA Training (Therapeutic Options of Virginia or equivalent)
- DSP Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current PPD/TB Test
- Updated Resume
- High School Diploma or GED
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
