Job Overview

Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity
- Monitor patients’ health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any concerns promptly
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging them in social activities or recreational pursuits
- Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely during transfers and assist with ambulation as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas and laundry
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, home health care, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or hospice care is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and assisting with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, families, and social workers
