SUMMARY
To provide services as part of a multi-disciplinary team to persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse problems. Service provision will focus on working with clients to enhance their recovery. Assist individuals who have experienced a recent mental health crisis in our peer drop-in centers and in the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support.
- To provide training in the use of personal and community resources.
- Assist in developing formal and informal community supports.
- Assist the person served in increasing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others.
- To offer encouragement in times of crisis.
- To advocate on behalf of persons with behavioral health problems to protect the client’s rights and to assist in reducing associated stigma.
- To work in cooperation with other providers, family members or significant others involved in the client’s recovery plan.
- To attend Agency staff meetings, Case Conferences and Individual and Group Supervision.
- To observe all rules of confidentiality relating to clinical information and treatment, both internally and when dealing with external agencies and/or individuals.
- Engage with and provide follow up services to individuals seen by mobile crisis team members.
- To be responsible for understanding client’s rights policy and procedures.
- To participate in staff training and development.
- To maintain professional standards at all times. To observe the guidelines established within the Code of Ethics and Conduct.
- To perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience for this position is based on education level.
- High School/GED: Must have two years experience.
- Bachelor Degree: Must have one year experience.
- Master Degree: No experience required.
- Overnight shifts do not have an education of experience requirement connected to them.
Demonstrated Competencies
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with consumers, referrals sources, and other community providers is absolutely essential.
- Ability to relate to a diverse population
- Good written and verbal communication skills
LANGUAGE
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
