JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Nursing is accepting applications for the position of adjunct for Fall 2026 to instruct HLTH111, Clinical Medical Assistant Fundamentals and HLTH112, Clinical Medical Assistant Internship. Candidates will be considered for other courses as their credentials allow.
 
HLTH111 Course Description: This course covers skills required to offer clinical hands-on support as a versatile employee able to multi-task in today's busy medical office setting. Topics include vital signs, EKGs, aseptic techniques, infection control, rooming patients, confidentiality, communication, professionalism, medical documentation, law and ethics of health care, point of care (POC) patient testing, introduction to medical office management, and insurance and billing basics.
 
HLTH112 Course Description: Students will complete a minimum of 90 hours of practical, hands-on experience in a healthcare setting performing the skills of a Clinical Medical Assistant and will be subject to all legal, ethical, and professional standards required of the designated agency staff. Students will review fundamental principles of theory in practicum and discuss varying topics related to the internship experience. Students must meet in person or consult with course instructor for placements.
 
Teaching assignments may involve teaching day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses. For Fall 2026, courses are taught both in person and asynchronously.
 
Adjunct instructors will be expected to:
•  Provide excellent teaching and instruction
•  Create, submit, and follow a syllabus that aligns with the course’s Master Course Syllabus
•  Use the Learning Management System to provide course materials to students
•  Be available to students through office hours, timely grading, and responsive communication
•  Read and abide by the policies listed in the Teaching Manual
•  Submit all records by their respective deadline, including progress reports, student concern notices, and grades
•  Understand and enact mission and values of TC3, and the equity, diversity, justice and inclusion plan.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a health, health education, allied health or closely aligned field, with extensive clinical or clinical education experience.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching in an accredited higher education institution, especially a community college, is preferred.
 
EXPECTED HIRING SALARY RANGE: For Adjunct Faculty, rates are found in the most recent adjunct contract. For each credit, the Fall 2026 entry pay rate is $1,146 - $1,209 dependent upon qualifications.
 
Review of applicants will begin ASAP.   NOTE:  This is a part-time (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are ongoing-recruitment pooled positions.
