Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, with experience in critical care settings, particularly within a Level II Trauma Center. This role requires a thorough understanding of human physiology and anatomy, as well as the ability to assess vital signs and provide effective ventilatory support to patients in need.
Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, ensuring timely interventions when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, ensuring functionality and safety standards are met.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding respiratory conditions and treatments.
- Document patient progress and responses to therapy accurately in medical records.
- Participate in clinical rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions regarding patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and hospital medicine.
Experience
- Proven experience in a clinical or hospital setting, particularly in critical care or emergency environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to respiratory care.
- Familiarity with ventilatory support systems and techniques used in respiratory therapy.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating independent decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
