Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor and observe patients closely, noting changes in condition and reporting findings accurately in medical records or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks like laundry, cleaning, meal preparation, and ensuring proper infection control practices.
- Support home & community care initiatives by helping clients maintain independence within their living environments.
Requirements
- Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) are required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are preferred.
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges and provide compassionate dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Familiarity with medical equipment including Hoyer lifts, blood pressure cuffs, thermometers, and EHR systems.
- Strong communication skills for accurate medical documentation and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a home setting; live-in employment options available for some roles.
