Credentialing Coordinator – $18-20/hr In-Office
Location: Knoxville, TN (In-Office)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
NURSEFirst is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the full credentialing and re-credentialing process for prospects and active/inactive field staff, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong administrative capabilities, excellent communication skills, and experience working within healthcare credentialing or a related field.
QualificationsEducation
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred
Experience
- Previous experience in credentialing or a related field, preferably within a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with credentialing software and databases is preferred
Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
The Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for the end-to-end credentialing process, ensuring all required documentation is collected, verified, and maintained. This individual will coordinate closely with recruiting teams, staffing coordinators, regulatory agencies, and healthcare facilities to maintain compliance across all credentialed personnel. The role also supports onboarding, provides occasional assistance to recruiting, and contributes to policy updates and quality assurance efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesCredentialing Process Management
- Coordinate and manage credentialing and re-credentialing for all prospects and field staff
- Ensure timely collection, verification, and ongoing maintenance of all required credentials
- Partner with recruiters and staffing coordinators to ensure new hires and active/inactive staff meet credentialing requirements
- Review applicant documentation to confirm eligibility and compliance with NURSEFirst standards
Documentation and Verification
- Verify professional licenses, certifications, education, and work history
- Maintain accurate and updated records within the credentialing database
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
Communication and Coordination
- Communicate with prospects and staff regarding required credentials and timelines
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies and healthcare facilities for credential verification
- Manage vendor management credentialing within systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient onboarding and compliance workflows
- Serve as a backup to the Recruiting Department as needed
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine audits of credentialing files to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry standards
- Assist in updating credentialing policies and procedures
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide support in training new office staff
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Branch Manager
- Reports directly to the Branch Manager and/or Recruiter
- Performance is evaluated at 90 days, 1 year, and biannually thereafter
