Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of industrial maintenance, and the ability to manage complex projects. This role is vital in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all plant equipment and facilities. The Maintenance Director will lead a team of technicians, coordinate maintenance activities, and implement strategies to optimize operational performance.
Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance strategies aligned with manufacturing goals.
- Supervise and lead maintenance teams, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across all plant equipment.
- Manage maintenance schedules using CMMS software to ensure timely repairs and minimal downtime.
- Coordinate with production managers to plan maintenance around production schedules.
- Oversee facilities management including HVAC systems, electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage), and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to industrial maintenance and electrical safety.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and procurement of parts and supplies.
- Lead projects related to equipment upgrades, facility improvements, or new installations utilizing project management best practices.
- Monitor the condition of equipment using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic devices to predict failures before they occur.
Skills
- Proven management experience with a strong background in facilities management within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong leadership abilities with supervising experience in industrial maintenance teams.
- Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and industrial safety standards.
- Ability to read technical schematics and manuals accurately.
- Project management skills for overseeing large-scale maintenance or upgrade projects from inception to completion.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical expertise to diagnose complex issues efficiently.
