SUMMARY
Responsible for ordering, receiving, tracking, stocking and distributing supplies.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of medical and nursing terminology.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of computer applications, spreadsheets and word processing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list is subject to individual facility policies, procedures and practices, which may require additional duties and responsibilities.
- Orders all supplies necessary for resident care, comfort, safety and health of the residents.
- Verifies merchandise received with packing slip and purchase order.
- Labels merchandise appropriately upon receipt and store in designated areas.
- Distributes supplies and equipment to resident room or other designated areas.
- Maintains accurate updated reports of supply and equipment usage for submission to Business Office for ancillary billing purposes as required.
- Informs Business Office of new merchandise and/or price changes.
- Tracks levels of inventory to assure adequate availability of supplies.
- Contracts and compares various vendors for quality and pricing of merchandise.
- Completes and properly codes purchase orders, monthly spend downs and other required reports.
- Respects and maintains residents’ dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality and is knowledgeable of Residents’ Bill of Rights.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
