Role Summary
As Director of Nursing, you will oversee all nursing operations within a senior living community, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, safety, and compliance. You’ll lead a dedicated nursing team, develop clinical strategies, and maintain excellence across care delivery, staff performance, and regulatory adherence.
This role is ideal for a seasoned RN leader with experience in senior living, assisted living, or skilled nursing settings who thrives in a collaborative, resident-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and evaluate all nursing operations to ensure exceptional resident care and regulatory compliance.
- Assess and approve resident admissions based on clinical appropriateness and care needs.Collaborate with physicians, department heads, and interdisciplinary teams to create and maintain individualized care plans.
- Partner with external providers such as pharmacies, hospice, and rehabilitation services to coordinate comprehensive resident care.
- Engage directly with residents and families to address care concerns and promote satisfaction.
- Lead Health Maintenance and Quality Review meetings, ensuring timely updates to service plans and care documentation.
- Oversee medication administration records, treatment logs, and nursing notes for accuracy and compliance.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance; foster professional growth and retention.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing models, and supply inventories to meet care and operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local healthcare regulations while maintaining strict confidentiality of resident information.
- Represent the organization in community and professional settings, cultivating strong partnerships and referral relationships.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - California (required).
- 3 years of nursing leadership experience in senior living, assisted living, or skilled nursing.
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations governing elder care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn EMR and medication management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze budgets, staffing metrics, and quality outcomes.
