Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and behavioral health.
- Perform procedures including suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, dermal fillers, spinal taps, and sterile processing techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of medical records and medical documentation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and case management.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to care while maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring excellent client communication.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification in your state; DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and drug enforcement regulations.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with telehealth platforms preferred.
- Competency in performing advanced procedures such as suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and sterile technique.
- Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure highly desirable; experience with infectious disease care or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus.
- Excellent client communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Additional qualifications that enhance your candidacy include experience in behavioral health, pain management experience, occupational health expertise, or post-acute care experience.
