The Role
The VP, Scientific Affairs will be Nuritas’ senior scientific leader in the United States and a critical architect of our external scientific credibility in North America.
This individual will lead from the front, translating complex science into compelling market narratives, shaping evidence-led positioning for our ingredients, building trust with partners and key external stakeholders, and helping convert scientific differentiation into commercial advantage.
This is not a traditional back-office scientific affairs role.
It is a visible, strategic, high-impact leadership position for someone who can move confidently between science, strategy, external influence, and commercial execution. The successful candidate will bring the credibility to command a room of scientists, the judgment to guide strategic decisions, and the commercial instinct to know what matters in the market now.
They will work closely with Nuritas’ global science, regulatory, and commercial teams while serving as the company’s leading US-based scientific voice with customers, partners, Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare professionals, and industry audiences.

- Strengthen the scientific foundations of partner conversations, ingredient positioning, and commercial adoption
- Shape a scientific affairs strategy that supports both current ingredient growth and future pipeline opportunity
- Build strong external networks and advocacy across scientific, clinical, and professional communities
- Help ensure Nuritas’ science is not only rigorous, but influential, differentiated, and relevant in the market
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Leadership
- Serve as Nuritas’ senior US-based scientific leader and external scientific spokesperson.
- Define and execute a scientific affairs strategy for North America aligned to commercial priorities, portfolio evolution, and long-term market ambition.
- Translate complex peptide science into clear, compelling, and credible narratives for technical, commercial, clinical, and professional audiences.
- Act as a trusted scientific advisor to leadership on market-facing scientific strategy, evidence positioning, and external credibility.
Commercial Enablement & Partner Influence
- Partner closely with Commercial and Business Development teams to support strategic customer engagement, technical sell-in, and partner conversion.
- Bring authority and confidence to high-value external meetings, helping customers and partners understand the differentiated value of Nuritas ingredients.
- Develop best-in-class scientific support materials including dossiers, white papers, substantiation packs, technical briefs, objection-handling tools, and education materials.
- Ensure scientific messaging is not only accurate and compliant, but also commercially relevant, differentiated, and persuasive.
Evidence Strategy & Research Prioritisation
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to shape the scientific and clinical roadmap required to support ingredient claims, adoption, and market leadership.
- Critically assess existing and emerging evidence to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities across the portfolio.
- Help prioritise scientific investments based on commercial relevance, scientific robustness, regulatory supportability, and strategic value.
- Support the communication and dissemination of evidence through publications, abstracts, scientific presentations, and partner-facing outputs.
External Profile & Thought Leadership
- Represent Nuritas at major scientific and industry events across North America, including conferences, trade associations, customer forums, and thought leadership platforms.
- Build and maintain a high-value network of KOLs, researchers, dietitians, clinicians, sports nutrition experts, and other influential stakeholders.
- Position Nuritas as a credible and differentiated voice in the future of nutrition, health ingredients, and bioactive peptide innovation.
- Contribute to selected media, podcast, panel, and thought leadership opportunities where scientific presence matters.
Regulatory & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Regulatory and Legal teams to ensure scientific substantiation supports compliant claims, technical documentation, and market-facing materials.
- Work across R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, and Marketing functions to ensure alignment between scientific evidence, customer needs, and commercial strategy.
- Operate with pace and sound judgment in a scaling company where scientific rigor and market timing must be balanced effectively.

Qualifications
Required
- PhD in Nutrition Science, Nutritional Biochemistry, Exercise Physiology, Food Science, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Significant experience in scientific affairs, clinical nutrition, ingredient science, or related leadership roles within dietary supplements, functional ingredients, nutraceuticals, or adjacent health sectors.
- Strong understanding of clinical substantiation, scientific positioning, and ingredient commercialisation in a B2B environment.
- Proven ability to translate complex science into externally credible and commercially effective narratives.
- Strong experience engaging senior stakeholders, customers, partners, and scientific audiences with confidence and authority.
- Thorough knowledge of the US regulatory environment relevant to dietary supplements and functional ingredients, including FDA, FTC, and DSHEA considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence decisions in a fast-paced, evolving business.
- US-based, with willingness to travel as needed domestically and internationally.
Preferred
- Experience supporting the commercialisation of branded ingredients or clinically substantiated health technologies.
- Familiarity with bioactive peptides, muscle health, sleep, healthy ageing, protein metabolism, or adjacent areas of human health.
- Experience in a high-growth, innovation-led, science-driven business environment.
- Existing network across academic, clinical, dietitian, sports nutrition, healthcare professional, or scientific affairs communities in the US.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled discovery platforms, computational biology, or next-generation ingredient innovation.
