Job Description
City: Santa Monica, CA | Seattle | NYC
Onsite/ Hybrid/ Remote: Onsite (4 days a week)
Only W2 (no C2C or 1099 or sub-contract)
Work Authorization: GC, USC, All valid EADs except H1b
Duration: 25 months
Must Have:
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Familiarity with statistical methods for assessing data quality
- 3 years of experience with at least one database technology (e.g., MySQL, Snowflake, Hive)
- Experience designing and executing complex queries to verify datasets
- Experience working in data engineering environments and collaborating with stakeholders
- Strong data quality and data reliability mindset
- Experience with data pipeline monitoring and setting up production checks
Responsibilities:
- Build models to evaluate data quality, consistency, and reliability across multiple business units
- Implement intuitive metrics that provide actionable insights into data health
- Automate data rules, checks, and processes to validate data meets standards and alerts owners when issues arise
- Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to understand data flows and ensure robust monitoring and data validation
- Own relationships with assigned business verticals, coordinating with directors, leads, and analytics teams to prioritize monitoring needs
- Provide ongoing feedback to internal tooling teams to enhance and scale data quality tools
- Participate in peer code reviews and team-wide standardization efforts
- Conduct periodic meetings and ad hoc analysis to support data certification initiatives
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on quality assurance and data validation
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively manage relationships with stakeholders
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, S3, HBase) is a plus
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and version control (e.g., Git) is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
