About NUMAS Haus: NUMAS Haus provides shelter and support services to homeless women and their children primarily in the Brown County, Minnesota area. NUMAS Haus provides comprehensive resources to support families in achieving long-term stability and independence during their 90-day stay. NUMAS Haus provides on-going case management for families who complete the program for up to two years after moving into their own housing. Position Summary: NUMAS Haus is seeking a proactive and dedicated Case Manager to support the day-to-day coordination of shelter operations and case management services. This role works directly with team members and residents to develop individualized plans, connect them with vital community resources, and provide support as they work toward self-sufficiency and permanent housing.
Key Responsibilities: Resident Intake & Program Coordination
- Conduct initial phone interviews and assessments for prospective residents
- Coordinate referrals to community providers, move-in and move-out processes in collaboration with support teams and community partners, program elements including financial literacy, housing readiness, career development and parenting support
- Assist residents with access and/or completion of a variety of applications, arrange appointments, rides, meetings and support services with community partners
Case Management & Resident Support
- Create, monitor, and support individualized goal plans for residents
- Offer daily support, advocacy, and accountability
- Conduct regular check-ins with residents and assist with goal progress
- Develop a comprehensive case management plan with residents and community partners for residents that have children at NUMAS Haus including academic, social and emotional support, activities and additional resources
- Facilitate ongoing orientations, one-on-one meetings, and resolution of resident disputes
- Lead regular house meetings to build community, address concerns, and review responsibilities
- Ensure residents uphold expectations regarding house rules and upkeep
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate case notes and records in the case management system and provide reports as needed
- Document all services provided and track resident progress
- Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with organizational policies
Shelter Operations
- Monitor and assist with general shelter maintenance, cleanliness, and safety
- Coordinate daily operational tasks such as forwarding mail, receipting and organizing donations, and picking up supplies or clothing items
Community & Volunteer Engagement
- Build relationships with community organizations to support resident needs
- Represent NUMAS Haus at partner meetings and community events
- Support and coordinate volunteers for shelter needs such as transportation, childcare, and group classes
- Assist with program development and delivery of resident programming
Team & Organizational Support
- Work collaboratively with a small, mission-driven team
- Assist with general office duties, marketing tasks, and fundraising efforts
- Participate in a shared on-call rotation for after-hours needs
- Adapt to evolving priorities and respond flexibly to resident and team needs
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, human services, administration, business or a related field. Licensed Social Worker (preferred but not required), ability to pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical Effort: This position requires moderate physical activity, ability to use stairs, step ladders, lift supplies, and perform light cleaning.
Compensation & Benefits: Depends on experience, $20-$25 hourly, 15-25 hours per week, mileage reimbursement
