Pest control/wildlife technician (Ellenton office)

Nuisance Wildlife Removal, a trusted family-owned company that’s been serving Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over two decades, is looking for a reliable and self-motivated pest and wildlife control technician with previous pest control experience to join our team. Never done wildlife work before? That’s OK. If you enjoy being outdoors, solving problems and working independently, we’re confident that you’ll be successful - and we’ll provide all the training you need to get you up and running quickly.

In this role, you’ll spend most of your time servicing our government contracts, taking care of rodent trapping, exclusion and follow-ups as daily work orders come in from our office staff. You’ll check trap lines on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday cadence, complete detailed notes with photos and perform minor repairs within budget when appropriate. During slower periods, you’ll run general household pest (GHP) services for residential and light commercial accounts across Manatee and Sarasota counties. You’ll manage your route efficiently, identify activity and entry points, communicate priorities back to the office and document your work. And while this isn’t a sales role, you’ll have the opportunity to recommend and sell new services and earn commission on any new business you generate.

Responsibilities at a glance

• Service school board work orders across Manatee and Sarasota counties, which typically entails rodent trapping, exclusion and follow-ups

• Perform residential and light commercial GHP treatments and insect control when needed

• Inspect for activity and entry points, set and monitor traps and complete detailed notes with photos included

• Check trap lines three times per week and handle return visits as needed

• Communicate priorities with the office, especially urgent school calls

• Maintain vehicle, tools and materials; follow safety and humane control standards

• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend work

Requirements

• Previous pest control experience required; wildlife experience a plus (training provided)

• Valid Florida driver’s license and clean record

• Able to pass background screening for school access

• Comfortable working independently, outdoors and in tight spaces

• Strong attention to detail with basic construction or repair know-how preferred

• Clear, professional communication with customers and teammates

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
