Food Scientist - Founding Team Member

About:
We’re building something bold in the functional food space — something that’s never been done before. Clean ingredients, real function, and a new approach to everyday nutrition. Think less “formulation lab,” more “food revolution.”
The Role
We’re looking for a scrappy, entrepreneurial Food Scientist with 5 years of experience in the functional food or CPG world. You’ll take the lead on R&D, formulation, and scaling — working directly with the founders to bring an entirely new product category to life. Opportunity to call yourself a Founding Team Member.
What You’ll Do:
⚗️ Develop and refine functional formulations that balance taste, performance, and shelf stability.
🏭 Collaborate with co-packers, ingredient suppliers, and labs to scale for production.
🧠 Drive innovation in functional food — explore new ingredient systems and delivery formats.
📈 Conduct sensory, microbial, and stability testing to ensure top-tier quality.
🚀 Contribute to strategy, documentation, and product pipeline development.
You Have:
✅ 3-5 years in food science, product development, or R&D (CPG / functional foods).
✅ Experience scaling from small batch to commercial production.
✅ Knowledge of clean-label ingredients and preservation techniques.
✅ A builder’s mindset — resourceful, hands-on, and energized by startup chaos.
✅ Passion for innovation in the wellness or functional food space.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working with co-manufacturers.
- Background in adaptogens, superfoods, or nutrient-dense formulations.
- Entrepreneurial streak — maybe even a side project or two.
