Senior Counsel - Capital Markets

We are seeking an experienced legal professional for a senior in-house counsel opportunity within the financial services industry. This position is suited to an attorney who understands the legal considerations involved in capital markets activities and enjoys working closely with business professionals to evaluate transactions, negotiate agreements, and address complex legal issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal guidance on capital markets activities, financial transactions, and related commercial arrangements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and other legal documentation.
• Partner with business leaders and internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and develop commercially sound solutions.
• Advise on relevant securities laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Work collaboratively with legal colleagues and other functions to support business initiatives and manage emerging legal issues.
• Help develop and maintain legal documentation, processes, and guidance as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• Significant legal experience within financial services, capital markets, banking, securities, or a related practice area.
• Prior in-house legal experience supporting a financial institution or similar business environment.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial or financial agreements.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance sound legal judgment with practical business considerations while working with stakeholders at different levels.
