What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic position at Nugent Organics?
Nugent Organics is a contractor for the construction aggregates mining and river terminal industries. The company is currently hiring an experienced mechanic to service heavy equipment. This position will perform work at multiple job sites in Kentuckiana while headquartered in the Louisville/Southern Indiana region. The mechanic will be responsible for repair, maintenance, and inspection of mobile equipment such as an excavator, dozer, loader, skid steer, and articulated haul truck.
Qualifications
-5 years of hands-on experience in the field with commitment to working safely
-Expert knowledge of major components across various makes and models of equipment
-Familiarity with technology to diagnose and document service issues and resolutions
-Ability to work well with coworkers and outside technicians
-Willingness and ability to perform physical duties in both indoor and outdoor environments
Requirements
-Pass a preemployment drug screening and physical examination
-Operate a company vehicle, on public roads and job sites, and heavy equipment, on job sites, as needed
-Receive written and verbal work orders with the ability to prioritize and multitask
-Coordinate scheduled maintenance and parts delivery with coworkers and outside vendors and contractors
-Perform routine maintenance and ad-hoc repairs as well as housekeeping and workplace examinations
-Maintain service and sample records as well as workplace and tools in an organized manner
-Weld and fabricate various equipment as needed
-Work overtime and weekend hours as needed
-Physical requirements include the ability to lift 70 pounds, perform various body movements while servicing equipment, and safely climb and work from elevated heights

Pay: $33.00 - $43.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
