Position Overview
We are seeking a legal secretary/paralegal with no less than two years of experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, and guardianship matters to join our team and support our attorneys. Medicaid experience is a plus.
This role is ideal for someone who brings strong technical skills.
The legal secretary/paralegal is hands on and works closely with attorneys, team members and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact for clients.
- Answer Telephones.
- Draft and prepare estate planning, probate, Elder Law/Medicaid and guardianship documents, including the use of WealthCounsel drafting platform.
- Assist attorneys throughout the client process, from intake through document execution and follow up
- Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation
- Communicate with clients in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner
- Track deadlines and assist with filings and administrative submissions as needed
- Prepare documents with accuracy and completeness
- Contribute to efficient case flow and consistent internal processes
Qualifications
- Two or more years of legal secretary/paralegal experience preferred, with strong exposure to estate planning, probate, and guardianships
- Familiarity with WealthCounsel or the ability to quickly adapt to new systems
- Strong drafting and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters while working collaboratively with a team
- Comfortable working with clients during sensitive or emotional situations
- Proficiency with legal technology and document management systems - CLIO preferred but not required
- Elder Law/Medicaid application experience is preferable but not a requirement
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree Required
