What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician 1 - Patcher position at Nucraft Furniture?
Position Summary:
Identify defects and repair before products go through topcoat processing.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect parts before going through topcoat to detect defects.
- Determine which defects need repairs and to what degree in order to meet standards.
- Determine appropriate process required to improve the quality of the part and hide defects.
- Fix or conceal defects as appropriate.
- Approve quality defects throughout plant before parts reach finish.
- Daily housekeeping to clean and remove waste from area.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Qualifications:
- If working in the Finish Department or Final Inspection and you make decisions on color then you must score a 50 or better on a Nucraft administered Color Test.
- If working in the Finish Lab you must score a 16 or better on a Nucraft administered color test.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience with patch/touch up preferred; must pass color test.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hearing protection and mask or respirators are provided for where required.
Computer Skills:
Some computer skills required.
Expected Hours:
- This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 2:00pm, Friday 5:00 am to 9:00 am
- Overtime is expected when posted in advance.
