Basic Job Functions:
The EAF Helper will work in an environment with high heat and dust exposure. EAF helper will be expected to adhere to all requirements for protective equipment for those areas and be responsible for, but not limited to, making timely and accurate decisions under pressure, ensuring that all the set-up work is complete for the EAFs (stock, clean up and spares), assisting both EAFs when needed, assisting with unloading supplies when needed (days and nights), ensuring that the EAF area is kept clean at all times (this includes ground level along with the EAF deck), assisting Maintenance during semi-annual shutdown as needed in all EAF areas. EAF Helper will work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
