Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Technical Services Metallurgical Lab Technician includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Praticipating in safety and housekeeping efforts
- Ensure a safe work environment for themselves and their coworkers
- Operatre and maintain laboratory equipment, such as Tensile Test Frames, Hardness Test Equipment, Profilometer, Mouting/Polishing Equipment, Micrometers, etc.
- Accurately and legibly, complete required paperwork of test results
- Accurately input data into NSAR business system
- Communication closley with Metallurgy Team
- This position will be rotation shifts on days
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in steel industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of the steelmaking process
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality control in an industrial setting
- Experience with chemical analysis and physical testing of steel products
