Job Description- We offer a competitive annual income averaging $60,000 – this includes average overtime, weekly base pay, and weekly production bonuses.
About the Job
You will be responsible for:
- Properly following company and OSHA safety procedures. Attending safety meetings and participating in safety programs.
- Completing and maintaining maintenance records.
- Monitoring pumps, piping, filter equipment, and centrifuge.
- Collecting samples for water testing.
- Adjusting metering pumps as needed.
- Switching chemical totes as required.
- Maintaining water flow by clearing small jams in water lines using a water/air compressor.
- Performing preventative maintenance including lubricating and measuring wear.
- Operating small equipment of various sizes including forklifts, skid steers, etc. on an as-needed basis.
- Providing technical support by monitoring various production equipment, making adjustments to feed/discharge rates of various production equipment, troubleshooting issues with production equipment.
- Conducting frequent and periodic inspections of the plant to detect malfunctions, initiating corrective actions, and reporting it to the supervisor.
- Performing daily scheduled preventative and emergency maintenance on production equipment including greasing, lubricating, cleaning, and measuring.
- Keeping grounds clear of debris while maintaining safety standards.
- Performing interior and exterior building maintenance, housekeeping chores, and ground maintenance, including but not limited to sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yard.
- Effectively communicating over radio with teammates for traffic coordination, production, and safety procedures.
- Will be willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned by your manager.
About You
You must have:
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment while providing excellent customer service.
- A minimum of 1 year of previous general labor experience in heavy manufacturing environments and warehouses preferably in the scrap metal or construction industries.
- The ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day.
- The ability to adapt to frequent changes of priority and complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision.
- The ability to meet attendance schedules with dependability and consistency.
- The ability to operate a forklift (a plus).
- Flexibility to work overtime, off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial/warehouse environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
- The ability to work in extreme heat and be exposed to weather.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Candidates within 50 miles of location preferred.
- Bilingual skills (a plus).
