Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst I. This position will collaborate across departments to enable data-driven decision-making by developing intuitive, validated analytics tools that empower users to solve business problems.
This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Learning existing business systems
- Serve as evangelist for NBT implemented applications
- Working with cross-functional teams to support data needs
- Assist departments with bringing more visibility to their data by creating dashboards, reports and custom analytic solutions
- Assist department stakeholders to build their own applications
- Manage and build data flows to ensure smooth and timely data delivery
- Handle ad-hoc requests and provide insights to support decision-making
- Focus on improving existing BI architecture for better performance and maintainability and support company initiatives by providing data-driven support and foster open communications across teams.
The analyst will also play a key role in promoting a culture of safety, supporting the company’s mission to become the world’s safest steel producer, and driving initiatives that prioritize customer focus, product quality, and environmental responsibility. This is an on-site position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum two-year's experience designing and developing reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
- Minimum one-year experience building, developing, and maintaining reporting and dashboard systems (Fabric, Databricks, or Tableau Server).
- Bachelor's Degree in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics field or closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of agile software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of a code version control system.
- Source data from across the enterprise to migrate into various instances of Data Lakes/Warehouses/databases.
- Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
- Experience with data models (SQL Server Analysis Services).
- Experience building, developing, and maintaining Machine Learning Models (Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Microsoft ML solutions).
- Understanding of data models, data integrations, and ETL tools.
