What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Specialist II position at NuCO2?
* This is a hybrid position and requires candidates to reside locally in order to report to the office when needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain inventory systems, ensuring overall data accuracy and reliable reporting.
- Verify stock documentation, receipt, and shortage reports while maintaining supporting records.
- Prepare purchase requisitions to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
- Generate monthly reports on order variances and accruals.
- Reconcile vendor shipments with corresponding goods receipts and invoices.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors, in coordination with the Procurement department.
- Collaborate across departments (sales, finance, and operations) to resolve variances, conduct forecasting, and analyze trends.
- Monitor forecasts and targets to identify changes and predict their impact on operational activities.
- Assess supplier performance concerning quality and delivery requirements.
- Work with operations managers to ensure timely recovery of assets from closed accounts.
- Participate in engineering changes, product line extensions, and new product launches to manage orderly transitions of materials or production flows.
- Manage Returned Material Authorization (RMA) programs to ensure assets are refurbished and returned to inventory or disposed of responsibly.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure accuracy of Purchasing/Inventory interfaces in JDE and FSM systems.
- Perform sourcing agent duties, including ensuring the procurement of quality materials at the best price and service levels.
- Identify or qualify new suppliers in collaboration with procurement, engineering, or operations teams.
- Assist regional operations managers with supplier transitions while ensuring accurate balance tracking.
- Manage or support productivity projects to capture and deliver value in assigned areas.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance system performance.
- Minimize obsolete items and update the item master for non-inventory items.
- Provide backup support for other functions of the Supply Chain team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (preferred).
- JDE software experience is required.
- Strong communication skills with exceptional organizational and disciplined work habits.
