The Nuclear Imaging Institute (NII) in Englewood, NJ seeks an Ultrasound Clinical Consultant to provide educational leadership, clinical guidance, and hands-on instructional support for NII's ultrasound students.
About the Role
This consultant position is designed for an experienced sonographer, educator, or ultrasound leader seeking a flexible, per diem opportunity to provide guidance and support for a growing imaging program.
Responsibilities
- Serve as NII's subject matter expert for ultrasound operations, clinical quality, sonographer education, and women's imaging education program.
- Serve as the designated Clinical Instructor for students participating in accredited sonography educational programs.
- Provide in-person clinical education oversight, student mentorship, protocol development, quality assurance review, and educational support.
Qualifications
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credentials in Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) or RT (S)
- Minimum two years of clinical ultrasound experience
- Knowledge of AIUM and ACR ultrasound practice standards
- Experience supporting accreditation, quality assurance, and educational initiatives
- Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, and consulting skills
- Experience working with academic institutions, sonography programs, or healthcare organizations preferred
- Eligible to practice in NJ with required state licensure
Required Skills
- Serve as a designated Clinical Instructor for sonography students assigned to NII
- Participate in protocol development and clinical best-practice implementation
Preferred Skills
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or equivalent educational pathway
- Active ARDMS credentials in Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) or RT(S)
- BLS/CPR certification eligible
- Documented compliance with continuing education requirements
- Must satisfy clinical instructor eligibility requirements of affiliated Diagnostic Medical Sonography educational programs
- Must maintain all professional credentials in good standing
Pay range and compensation package
Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, certifications, instructional responsibilities, and consulting scope. Starting base pay range: $70 - 85/hr
