Role Description The Service Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC, responsible for performing residential and light commercial electrical service work. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing electrical issues, performing repairs and maintenance, installing and upgrading electrical systems, and ensuring all work meets safety codes and company standards. The role involves interacting with customers on-site, explaining findings and recommended solutions, and providing clear, professional estimates. The Service Electrician will also complete required documentation, maintain tools and equipment, collaborate with team members and dispatch, and follow all safety and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of electricity fundamentals and electrical engineering concepts applicable to residential and light commercial environments.
- Proficiency in electrical work, including installation, replacement, and upgrading of wiring, panels, fixtures, and related components.
- Experience with maintenance & repair of electrical systems, ensuring reliable operation and adherence to safety codes.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to accurately diagnose electrical problems and identify effective solutions.
- Valid electrician license or applicable certification in North Carolina, or ability to obtain as required.
- Familiarity with NEC, local electrical codes, and standard safety practices for on-site work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and work orders.
- Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and ability to work in customers’ homes and businesses professionally.
- Effective communication skills, customer service mindset, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined or elevated spaces.
