Job Summary:

Develops, maintains, and supports ECOSphere reports and dashboards that provide insights for species conservation. Translates stakeholder requirements into accurate, secure, and visually effective reporting products using SQL, SSRS, and AWS QuickSight.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect reporting requirements and define key metrics and visualization needs.
  
• Analyze ECOSphere enterprise data warehouse schema and source systems to understand reportable data.
  
• Apply ETL techniques to ensure data accuracy and integrity for reporting outputs.
  
• Design and develop reports using advanced SQL, SSRS, and AWS QuickSight; implement filters, aggregations, and calculations.
  
• Create interactive dashboards and reports that communicate complex insights clearly to diverse audiences.
  
• Develop scripts (e.g., Python) to automate data extraction/transformation/analysis where appropriate.
  
• Thoroughly test reports and scripts for accuracy, reliability, and alignment with requirements; address defects found in testing.
  
• Create comprehensive documentation (data sources, queries, specifications, user instructions).
  
• Support and update existing ECOSphere reports; respond to production issues and change requests.
  
• Work within SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes; participate in grooming, sprint planning, and peer reviews.
  
• Apply least-privilege, role-based access considerations and data governance best practices to report delivery.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  
• Minimum 5 years of report design and development experience.
  
• Proficient in SQL and advanced querying techniques.
  
• Extensive experience with SSRS for designing and deploying reports.
  
• Hands-on experience with AWS QuickSight or similar modern visualization tools.
  
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and stakeholder communication capability.
  

Preferred Qualifications (Upgrades)

• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes; familiarity with dimensional modeling.
  
• Experience with Python or R for data manipulation/automation.
  
• Understanding of data governance and data security best practices; certification in relevant technologies (nice to have).
