What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Control Assistant position at NuAire, Inc?
JOB FUNCTION:
Performs any combination of tasks to produce weekly schedules for work centers. Works within the Production Control Department to coordinate schedules that are satisfactory to both the appropriate work centers and the shipping schedule. Analyzes the open order report and the shipping schedule to produce these production schedules weekly. Updates the production schedules daily as changes occur in the shipping schedule. Takes into account parts orders that may impact the schedule. Works closely with shop supervisors to continuously ensure effective material/work order flow, minimum use of overtime or premium time resources. Ensures optimum cooperation is provided to manufacturing supervision from all organizational functions in achieving customer service commitments and product build schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years related experience preferred.
- APICS Certification helpful.
Specific Job Knowledge
- Understanding of Production Control’s function in the company.
- Basic blue print reading
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Duties
- Read and interpret shipping schedule.
- Read and interpret open order report.
- Read and interpret production summary report.
- Read and interpret material shortage list.
- Project short and long term schedules for work centers.
- Project work orders needed from Fabrication Schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Responsibility
- Produce daily/weekly production schedules for work centers.
- Work within the Production Control Department.
- Report to the Production Control Manager.
- Work with NuAire’s computer systems.
- Work with various NuAire computer reports.
- Attend weekly production meeting.
- Follow all safety rules; including using all recommended personal protection equipment.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add and subtract using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
