Auto Sales Counter/Dispatcher

Job description

The Counter Sales position is responsible for providing customers with product or service information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise to purchase. The Dispatcher position is responsible for the daily oversight of the delivery drivers, ensuring that both customer service and internal measurements are held to the highest standards.

Responsibilites

• Conduct cashier transactions and restock merchandise as may be needed.
• Recommend additional products or services to meet customer needs; and arrange special orders and deliveries.
• Assist store manager with general store operations and perform customer deliveries when needed.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems a plus
• Interest in working in a fast paced team-oriented work environment. Ensure efficient and timely completion of trip assignments, assigning drivers as operational needs required· Updating information and changes in a specialized computer system·
• Re-assign drivers, as necessary, updating the information in the system and notifying appropriate managers/scheduling staff
• Monitoring driver activity for cancellations and availability for trips
• Review all driver routes to ensure that vehicles are efficiently used in terms of capacity.
• Communicate trip concerns to supervisor and coordinate problem resolution.
• Monitor allocation of driver’s time to minimize use of overtime.
• Work with supervisors on resolving specific program routing issues and transportation related complaints.
• Answer messages regarding driver call in and relay that information to relevant staff members
• Handle driver requests for emergency assistance
• May be needed to occasionally serve as a delivery driver when staffing issues arise.

Requirements

• Must have knowledge of automotive parts, equipment and/or systems
• Basic computer skills including experience with MS Office products
• Must have a high school diploma
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR) that meets company’s requirements.
• Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills
• Effective communication skills – verbal and written
• Must be able to manually handle/carry items that weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be able to work independently, but still support a team environment.
