Does this sound like you? nTop is hiring a passionate and highly skilled Senior Product Designer to join our Product Team. This role will be responsible for shaping innovative UX strategies while also owning hands-on design work from concept to delivery. You'll partner closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to design solutions for complex computational modeling, simulation, and optimization workflows for highly technical users.
This position sits at the intersection of 3D modeling, visual programming, and AI, requiring both technical fluency and design craft to create cohesive, intuitive, and scalable user experiences that will shape the future of engineering design.
This role is based in New York City, and reports to the VP of Product.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the full design process, from early concepts and prototypes to detailed specs and delivery in the product.
- Define scalable interaction patterns and design principles that guide the product long-term.
- Design for AI-native workflows, making intelligent features feel natural, trustworthy, and integrated into complex engineering tasks.
- Create detailed design specs, user flows, and wireframes that clarify data structures, interactions, and system behavior for both technical and non-technical collaborators.
- Lead prototyping and user testing across fidelity levels to uncover assumptions, validate solutions, and refine experiences.
- Engage directly with users to translate ambiguous needs into actionable design opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to ensure designs are implemented with high quality and delivered on time.
- Be a UX thought leader, clearly communicating design rationale and elevating design standards across the company.
- Contribute to the growth of design at nTop, with potential to expand into broader leadership responsibilities as the team scales.
Required Experience
- 5 years of product design experience with complex software products for highly technical users; experience in engineering design is a plus.
- Skilled in information architecture, interaction design, and interface design; familiar with 3D modeling environments and visual programming tools (e.g., Grasshopper).
- Experience designing for AI-native experiences and understanding how AI changes user expectations and interactions.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems (e.g., Figma).
- Able to take ownership of UX strategy with minimal oversight, especially in 01 contexts.
- Comfortable making trade-offs, balancing complexity with clarity, and driving solutions from concept to release.
- Able to synthesize complexity, influence cross-functional partners, and present effectively to leadership.
- Background in startup or fast-paced environments with a bias toward action and autonomy.
Compensation: $150,000-$165,000 annually plus options and benefits
