Summary:
Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles (trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles). Ensures vehicles operate safely and efficiently. Maintains and repairs drilling rigs and other heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and front loaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues using manual and computerized tools.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Perform routine maintenance (brake service, fluid changes, lubrication, filter replacement).
- Repair or replace worn or defective parts (engine, transmission, brakes).
- Conduct test drives to verify repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate repairs to Fleet Manager.
- Stay updated on automotive technology and safety standards.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on drills and rig equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems, including diesel engines and compressors.
- Disassemble and reassemble major components
- Operate service trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment for repairs.
- Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or technical certification; mechanical engineering diploma preferred for senior roles.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in rig or drill maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and auto electrical systems.
- Ability to work in harsh environments and lift heavy loads.
- Class A CDL preferred
- Welding certification preferred
- Certifications like ASE or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.
- Experience working on Ditch Witch drills is a plus
