Job Title: OSP Assistant Project Manager
Location: Manassas VA
Department: Outside Plant (OSP) Construction
Reports To: Project Manager
Position Summary
The OSP Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of outside plant construction projects. This role is responsible for assisting in daily project operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in telecommunications construction and a strong understanding of systems such as LCAMS, VA Traffic, and 811 ticket management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in overseeing all phases of OSP construction projects from initiation to closeout
- Manage and maintain project documentation, reports, and tracking systems
- Submit, track, and manage 811 utility locate tickets, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations
- Utilize LCAMS for asset management, job tracking, and project updates
- Coordinate and manage VA Traffic control plans, permits, and compliance requirements
- Monitor project budgets, quantities, and production to support financial performance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Support scheduling, material procurement, and resource allocation
- Communicate project status, risks, and updates to leadership
- Assist with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes and field audits
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and permits
- Experience with LCAMS, VA Traffic, and 811 ticketing systems
- Previous experience in a project coordination or assistant project management role
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to utility construction
- OSHA certification or safety training is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and field environment
- May require travel to job sites
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and active construction zones
