Regulatory Affairs Consultant

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Advisor on a contract basis to provide guidance and support for Gulf of America offshore projects. This role ensures compliance with federal regulations and serves as a liaison with BSEE, BOEM, and USCG.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide regulatory guidance to engineering, operations, and project teams during all project phases (concept, FEED, execution).
• Serve as liaison with BSEE, BOEM, and USCG for projects as needed.
• Prepare and file permits, including structural applications, DWOPs/SDWOPs, life extension, and pipeline applications.
• Track regulatory deliverables and ensure permit compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on operations.
• Develop permitting workflows, templates, and best practices.
• Assist with training materials for asset and operational teams.
• Represent the company in industry organizations and workgroups.
• Provide on-call support, including weekends, for project-related regulatory needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 10 years in upstream oil & gas, offshore experience required.
• Strong knowledge of BSEE, BOEM, USCG regulations, ABS rules, and industry standards (API, ASME).
• Experience with deepwater projects, floating production systems, subsea pipelines, and offshore structures.
• PE license or advanced degree preferred; T2 training preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
