W2 Contract: 12 Months
Location: Hybrid in Houston, TX 77002 (1-day onsite)
- 1-day per week onsite in the client location (On Wednesday)
- Shift: Monday to Friday 09:00 AM-06:00 PM
Overview
Work with a market-leading organization managing critical data pipelines and financial reconciliation. As a Billing and Reconciliation Analyst, you will step away from basic invoicing and dive deep into complex data operations. You will be responsible for ensuring massive flows of usage and billing data from external utilities integrate seamlessly into internal corporate systems, investigating systemic technical drops, and resolving client-facing discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, monitor, and process daily usage and billing data files transmitted from external utility providers into the internal billing system.
• Investigate, research, and remediate data that "falls out" or fails to automatically upload into corporate systems.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations for customers, balancing variances between utility data and internal supply records.
• Identify gaps in data or missing account usage information, and proactively partner with external utilities to retrieve the necessary files.
• Manage and resolve internal inquires and discrepancies escalated via a case/ticketing system by the internal sales team.
• Adapt quickly between executing standard billing workflows and deep-dive transactional reconciliation exercises.
Required Qualifications
• Strong, verifiable experience using Microsoft Excel for data comparison and reconciliation.
• High-level analytical capabilities and strong problem-solving skills; a proven track record of investigating data or transaction failures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface effectively with internal sales teams and external utility providers.
• High customer-service orientation when managing internal cases and external corporate communications.
• A Bachelor's degree, OR a High School Diploma/GED combined with a minimum of 4 or more years of relevant professional work experience.
• Prior experience working with utility data, utility billing systems, or energy supply structures.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity or limited experience running, reviewing, or modifying basic SQL queries and reports.
