Overview
Our client is seeking a Order and Fulfillment Specialist to process and manage customer orders from entry through fulfillment. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of order execution to prevent revenue disruption, while serving as a key support resource for procurement and buying teams. You will proactively monitor order pipelines, coordinate logistics, and troubleshoot delivery issues to maintain smooth operational flow and business continuity.
Responsibilities
- Process and manage customer orders from entry through fulfillment with high accuracy and timeliness to prevent revenue disruption.
- Serve as backup or primary coverage for order management during staffing gaps.
- Monitor the order pipeline and proactively resolve any delays or discrepancies.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including manual pickup creation.
- Support buyers by executing logistics tasks when system access is unavailable.
- Liaise with internal logistics teams, carriers, and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery flow and track shipments.
- Act as a key support resource for procurement/buying teams, assisting with order-related inquiries, shipment status, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, procurement, and operations teams.
- Identify inefficiencies in order and logistics workflows, recommend improvements, and maintain accurate documentation and system updates.
- Work in a warehouse environment, lifting up to 50 lbs
Required Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in order management, logistics, supply chain, or operations support.
- Hands-on experience with shipment coordination and pickup scheduling.
- Strong understanding of order-to-cash or procure-to-pay processes.
- Ability to manage high volumes of transactional work with accuracy.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Critical attention to detail for precise order accuracy and shipment processing.
- Adaptability and resilience to step into a high-pressure, understaffed environment and ramp up quickly with minimal supervision.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- High sense of urgency with a clear understanding of how delays impact revenue.
- Exceptional reliability to ensure business continuity during staffing shortages
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting both order management and logistics functions simultaneously.
- Experience working in environments that require manual workarounds due to system limitations.
- Exposure to vendor and supplier coordination
