Overview & Responsibilities:
Our client is in the process of migrating from our existing mainframe SCM, ChangeMan ZMF, to a DevOps-based implementation using Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other tools built around a version of IBM Mainframe development accelerators. When the project is completed, the organization will be operating exclusively using the DevOps-based tools. You will...
• Support the strategic transition of source code and change management processes from ChangeMan ZMF to Bitbucket while ensuring data integrity and version history retention.
• Maintain and optimize existing ZMF integration points with RACF, DB2, and CICS to ensure security protocols and database hooks are successfully mapped to the new DevOps toolchain.
• Develop and refine REXX programs, ISPF/TSO panels, and skeletons to automate migration tasks and facilitate seamless communication between mainframe and distributed systems.
• Lead a geographically dispersed team of technical professionals, utilizing conflict resolution and mediation skills to navigate the shift to a DevOps culture.
• Align Jenkins pipelines with traditional mainframe testing and validation tools, such as XPEditer and JobScan, to ensure continuous code quality.
• Provide regular status updates and project health metrics to stakeholders using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to track progress against project timelines.
• Act as the primary technical subject matter expert for troubleshooting complex issues involving Dialog Manager and mainframe-specific deployment bottlenecks.
• Design new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the DevOps environment to replace legacy ZMF lifecycle controls.
• Ensure the new automated deployment framework meets all internal audit, regulatory, and compliance standards previously managed by the mainframe SCM.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience – OR – High School diploma and 9 years of related experience.
• Highly proficient in ChangeMan ZMF and its integration with RACF, XPEditer, JobScan, Email via SMTP, CICS, DB2, and ISPF/TSO.
• Advanced knowledge of Dialog Manager Panels/Skeletons and REXX programming; strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proven track record of team management, conflict resolution, and managing teams across multiple offices and home-based locations.
• Customer service focused, analytical thinker, and skilled in mediation with a consistent history of meeting project goals.
