Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Plasterer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying plaster, stucco, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, transforming spaces with craftsmanship and precision. Your expertise will contribute to a variety of projects, including renovations, restorations, new builds, and commercial developments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of construction techniques and materials, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications and safety standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal plaster adhesion.
- Mix plaster, stucco, or other finishing materials accurately according to project requirements.
- Apply plaster and stucco using hand tools such as trowels, hawks, floats, and sprayers for smooth finishes on walls and ceilings.
- Install metal lath or wire mesh for reinforcement in stucco applications or decorative finishes.
- Read blueprints and schematics to interpret project specifications accurately.
- Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely to facilitate large-scale or complex applications.
- Perform rebar installation, concrete forming, framing carpentry, and tile laying as needed for comprehensive project execution.
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures by repairing cracks, damaged surfaces, or deteriorated finishes.
- Collaborate with other trades such as masonry, carpentry, roofing, and welding teams to ensure seamless project progress.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working on construction sites and during the operation of machinery.
Experience
- Proven experience in plastering, stucco application, drywall finishing, or related construction fields.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and blueprint reading skills.
- Hands-on experience with concrete finishing, metal stud framing, caulking, trim carpentry, tile laying, and masonry techniques.
- Familiarity with schematics for heavy equipment operation and renovation projects.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels along with power tools including drills and saws.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely on construction sites while adhering to all safety regulations.
