Assistant Director — School-Age Program (Part-Time)

Job Summary
NTA Taekwondo is a licensed Texas school-age program where martial arts, character development, and quality childcare meet. We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and people-centered Assistant Director to help lead our Afterschool and Summer Camp programs in Hurst, TX.
In this role, you will work directly alongside the Director/Owner to keep daily operations running smoothly, supervise program staff, ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our care, and maintain compliance with Texas Minimum Standards for School-Age Programs. When the Director is off-site, you are the leader, calm, capable, and in charge.
The right person for this role genuinely loves working with kids, takes compliance seriously, communicates well with parents, and brings energy and structure to a fast-moving program environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Director/Owner in managing daily Afterschool and Summer Camp operations
- Serve as the designated person-in-charge when the Director is off-site
- Supervise and support program staff and caregivers
- Maintain Texas Minimum Standard compliance including attendance, enrollment, and incident records
- Ensure smooth daily transitions: arrivals, activity rotations, and dismissal
- Drive the shuttle to pick up afterschool students (valid TX license required)
- Conduct monthly and quarterly emergency drills and document results
- Assist in planning age-appropriate activities and enrichment programming
- Communicate professionally with parents and prospective families
- Support special events: Parents Night Out, Summer Camp Open House & Community School Out Reach
- Cover groups and step in when a team member is absent
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a licensed school-age, childcare, or youth program
- Ability to obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- Must pass a Texas Child Care Regulation (CCR) background check
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team
- Ability to be physically active for extended periods; lift up to 40 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field is a plus
- 6 or more college credit hours in management or child development
- Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for School-Age Programs
- Experience in a youth program
- Existing Texas Licensing Director's Certificate is a big plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English) is a plus

Compliance Notice
