What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power BI Consultant position at NSS?
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Consultant (Designer or Architect) to support a short-term project focused on developing an interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboard. The ideal candidate will bring strong Power BI design and data visualization expertise, as well as familiarity with integrating data from Costpoint, including through API feeds.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop custom Power BI dashboards tailored to business requirements.

Integrate and automate data feeds, ideally via APIs, from Deltek Costpoint.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and ensure dashboard functionality aligns with business needs.

Provide best practices and strategic guidance on Power BI architecture and data modeling.

Document dashboard architecture, logic, and maintenance recommendations.
Qualifications:

Proven experience designing and deploying Power BI dashboards in a professional setting.

Strong understanding of Power BI data modeling, DAX, and performance optimization.

Experience with or working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, especially the back-end data structure and API integration.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience in short-term or consulting engagements is a plus.
Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with financial, project, or operational reporting metrics commonly used in government contracting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Background in data integration and ETL processes.

Experience with Azure services related to Power BI is a plus.
