MULTIVAC OPERATOR
SUMMARY:
Assigned under the general supervision of the Production Supervisor to operate Multivac machine for packed products and utilize a variety of NSP processes, equipment, or tools to meet production standards or specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have very good communication skills.
- Must be able to follow directives given to them by lead and or any upper management that gives directives to be followed.
- Will get online and spread and or dump product whenever needed to relieve for breaks.
- Must have a good relationship with co-workers on the line and direct them to go to break or to do anything else needed (clean the floor).
- Will follow all HACCP rules and regulations as required (Training will be provided, as we train out on the floor).
- Employee will have to be able to READ schedules to production.
- Do paperwork and document all required paperwork as needed on a daily basis
- Maintenance is notified as to what set up is required prior to shift start.
- Set up Multivac and turn temperature on at the start of the shift.
- Ensure the appropriate film and tooling are being used at all times.
- Ensure the deals are good on all the product.
- Ensure the right labels are used at all times.
- At the need of the shift, turn machine off and remove film.
- Clean and cover any control panel exposed.
- All film must be covered and sent back to proper location.
- Ensure proper date on packages and review with supervisor and packaging department.
- Check vacuum before start of each shift.
- At the end of the shift, turn machine off an dismantle.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Will train as necessary allowing 60-90 days to reach and maintain minimum daily production standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Requires a full range of body motion to include lifting, twisting, bending, reaching outward, pushing, and pulling.
- Required to stand at waist high table for up to three (3) hours before taking a break.
- The ability to maintain one’s balance while performing the required work tasks is essential.
- Works at waist high counter with arms extended below shoulder level.
- Walks/stands on even concrete surface, which may at times be slippery due to marinates, water, and other liquids associated with the production process.
- Requires intensive hand/wrist movement to meet the NSP minimum required pounds per day (see above).
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- The job is fast paced and the ability to deal with stress is essential.
- May be exposed to strong odors such as marinate from seasoned meat.
Full time regular position that works Monday through Friday, generally 8 hours per day, with minimal overtime. Travel is not required for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- The office environment is typically climate controlled of 68ºF to 72ºF and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment
- The indoor production environment is climate-controlled of -40ºF to 45ºF with regular exposure to prolonged noise
While in the production area, all employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include hair and beard nets, rubber soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection and hard hats
