Job Description The Associated Students of the University of Nevada is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national and international levels. Responsibilities The duties of an Associate Justice are as follows: Interpret the legal and governing documents of the Associated Students of the University of the Nevada Hear all charges brought against the executive and legislative branches of the Association Review past decisions of previous Judicial Councils in order to establish foundation for precedent Meet no less than twice per semester to discuss and review matters of legality and constitutionality within the Association, additional meetings should be held if necessary for preparation purposes Administer oaths of office as necessary to officers in the Association whenever the Chief Justice is not available Shall be relieved by the Chief Justice from all matters concerning a hearing if at any time it is recognized that the officer possesses a conflict of interest Review all rulings made by the Chief Justice during a hearing if an objection is raised Responsible for attending all ASUN retreats, and trainings as decided by the Chief Justice and the Director of Executive Outreach. Required Qualifications During my tenure in this appointed position, I agree to adhere to the following guidelines: Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 undergraduate credits Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct Meet all deadlines set forth Attend all required meetings and training Work scheduled hours Properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time Assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada Behave in a manner that is ethical, maintaining a high level of integrity Other duties as called upon by my position I understand if I do not adhere to the items outlined in this agreement or what is stated in the ASUN Governing Documents, my position may be subject to disciplinary action by the ASUN Judicial Council and/or the University of Nevada.
